Transforming Poems

WHO are we now?

Who?

 Who is the one stopping?

Who is the one sinking

while another gently waits

to come forth?

She has been waiting all my life,

holding, tending, shifting,

showing herself in moments

in flashes - and then -

stepping back, stepping back

waiting.

Is her moment here?

(The Turning of the Year:January 1, 2021)

a storm to clear

Sometimes - and even more often

than we'd like - it takes a storm

to clear the weather, to usher in

a peaceful day or night.

In my later years, I see now

that this is so for people too,

part of nature that we are -

a good shouting brings

pain and tears, a cloud

of isolation and a release

of held-back water -

pouring out just as clouds

release theirs...

Then peace - to body and soul -

settles in, until the storm

builds again.

For a Transforming World

On this page I will add poems I have written over the past few years - unpublished - that I now recognize are relevant to the transforming time in which we live. Inner change is necessary -urgent, even, if outer change is to bring about a new world...
