On Chaos
Chaos in the commons
That
seems to be our way
Totalitarian or Socialist
They all have their say
Blockades, impeachment
Civil war and the like
Think-tanks seek a solution
While workers go on strike
It’s almost always for more
More order, more wealth
More
security, more health
Yet, nobody wants more chaos
However, that is what we get
In a living universe seeking stasis
Changing with a consistency
With a speed that outpaces
And we think
Big
brain thoughts
With big brain ideas
Like, we are above it all
That part of ourselves
Reaching for the next meal
That is never satisfied
Intent on the next fad or ideal
Then there
is comfort
Mammalian brain
Abhors the chaos
That brings an end to comfort
So, how much comfort
And who, in the end, bears the cost?
Where is the empathy
and awareness?
For all the One’s sacrificed and lost
Are there any limits
In a world
Where the mere presence of food
Causes unabated hunger?
There is chaos
There
are storms
Fires, earthquakes
…Revolution
There is evolution
Where an awakening
Of the conscious, thinking
Heart and brain happen
Born out of chaos
Capable of choice
Free
to create
A different reality
Mismatched to what ancestry
Has demanded
A new form of survival
An unpretentious accounting
Consciousness born out of the chaos
That recognizes itself
in the Other
Finally knowing with certainty
We are all in this together
